HE WORE GLASSES TO LOOK MORE INTELLIGENT.
Despite the pose, Adam isn’t the David Brent of filmmaking, he’s an award-winning writer, director, and producer from Bristol and Founder of Independent Production Company, RARE SHEPHERD.
The simple ethos of Adam’s work is, “Do things from love, not for love.” Admittedly, this sounds like absolute waffle but it is actually true, one look at his bank balance proves he’s not just another heartless careerist. Whether it’s making his own work, developing other writers and directors, or investing in their films, the goal is to make films simply for the love of making them. Makes you want to puke, doesn’t it?
This ethos has helped Adam create the award-winning anthology web series, Sparebnb, won the BAFTA Rocliffe award for comedy, become a finalist in The Nickelodeon Writing Program, write for kids TV, and join forces with the multi-award-winning start-up, Script Compass and most recently saw him DIRECT HIS DEBUT FEATURE FILM!!!
But this philosophy extends beyond his own achievements and has seen Adam help 1000+ writers on his pay-what-you-can script-reading scheme, providing full professional script services to any writer at any level, at an ethical price point. He uses the money raised from this scheme to produce and fund new exciting content for his production company, Rare Shepherd, some of which you can watch below.
Most recently this saw him direct feature film, Sabotør, a brand new comedy cooking show called Nosh of da People, 2 x episodes of the mockumentary The Real Witches and most notably, the short film Harry Is Not Ok, which secured a place at The National Film and Television School on a full BAFTA Scholarship for writer/director Harry Sherriff - who has since graduated and just recently DIRECTED HIS OWN DEBUT FEATURE FILM!!!
He may look like a bit of a wally but he is very good at what he does. You should hire him.
